Most people don’t give much thought to their tires until something drastic happens on the road, and they are finally alerted to a problem with their tires. Sadly, that drastic situation could be serious. It’s best not to wait until that happens to inspect your tires and determine if it is time for new ones. Here are 3 signs that will tell you it is time for new tires.

3 Signs it’s Time to Get New Tires

  1. Bald Tires. The most obvious sign that it’s time for new tires is if your current ones are bald. This means the tread has worn down until there is not enough left for your car to have proper traction on the road. No matter the road conditions, driving with bald tires can be very dangerous. You cannot properly brake, turn corners, or drive safely without the tread on your tires. If you notice your tires are balding, it is best to get new tires on your vehicle as soon as possible.
  2. Bubbles and Cracks. Your tires can develop bubbles on their sides or threads. This could be a result of air getting in between the internal layers of your tire. There is a chance it is a result of bad production, but no matter the cause, it is time to get new tires. If you also notice distinct grooves on the sidewalls of your tires that are very visible, this is a sign your tires are either developing a leak or worse, about to blow out.
  3. Uneven Tread Wear and Low Pressure. If your tire treads are wearing unevenly, this could be a result of bad alignment or differing tire pressure between the tires. It is best to keep an eye on your tire’s pressure, so you can determine if there is a leak in one. This way you know which ones need to be replaced sooner rather than later.
